Isabella is a private surrender due to her former owner's health declining. They have now made the selfless decision to surrender Isabella and entrust her to us to assist her. We are advised that Isabella has been passed around somewhat - having had 3 or 4 owners in her short life already. We want to make sure her next home is her forever home!
Isabella is a very sweet, friendly little dog who is a joy to have in the home. Isabella is quite content snuggling up on your lap.
Isabella's former owner states that Isabella is toilet-trained and very social with other dogs, no matter the size.
Isabella is great in the car and seems to enjoy car rides.
Isabella is protective of her environment and loves her crate. Isabella can exhibit some guarding behaviors so her adopter will need to ensure this is controlled and discouraged.
Isabella cannot be homed with cats as she will chase and nip at them.
Isabella can be wary of males and strangers and needs to be introduced to new people very slowly so that she does not become overwhelmed. Isabella is known to nip at heels and bark a lot if she is taken off-guard by visitors. We will work with this type of behavior while in foster care.
* More information to be added at a later date - once we get to know Isabella better.
Isabella received her vet check up on 01/10/2020. No medical issues noted.
Isabella has been flea and wormed while in Trust care (we do so every 3 months).
Isabella is vaccinated up to date, de-sexed, micro-chipped and her details added to the NZCAR database.
Isabella has a prominent bump on her chest - this has been checked out and is just very pronounced xyphoid cartilage.
Isabella has had a dental check and is not in need of a dental at present, but it is recommended within the next 18 months.
- Isabella is being fostered in Christchurch, a local home is preferred so the team can assist with her integration.
- Full fencing is a must. Any adopter must have fully enclosed fencing with no holes or gaps and they must be of a decent height.
- Isabella cannot be homed with cats. Please do not apply if you have a cat.
- Isabella cannot be homed with young children, 8 years and older would be suitable.
- No full time workers. Part time workers, retired or working from home (permanently) would be suitable. Isabella is used to someone home with her for much of the day.
* Isabella's adopter requirements may be amended at a later date.
NOTE: Before applying for our dogs, please do read the above adopter requirements and ensure that you meet these. We are very clear about the homes we are seeking. We set the adopter requirements after consultation with the foster carers and consideration of the dogs, needs, welfare and personality. They are strict requirements - no exceptions. Please do not submit an application if you do not meet the above, we will simply respond to confirm the application is declined. Unfortunately, at times this has been the case and we have had to disappoint prospective adopters. This is why we are clear about our requirements prior and note them above.
Adoption Fee: $400.00
NOTE ON THE ADOPTION FEES AND TRIALS: Our adoption fees are determined by taking into account age of the dog, overall health and funds expended to date on that particular dog. The trust uses these adoption fee funds on: desexing surgery, micro-chip and NZCAR registration, vaccines, Council registration, flea and worm treatments, plus any other essentials dogs require such as specialist medications or food, blood-testing, orthopedic surgeries etc. and any other dog disposables required for dogs in care. Please note: sorry we do not accept payment plans, as we need to be sure adopters are able to financially support dogs prior to adoption - sorry, no exceptions. Please note: the deposit needs to be made to the trust account prior to the changeover date of the dog going on trial. We do not accept cash payments on the date. The full100% of all adoption fees go towards the dogs in the care of the Trust.
